Pelmeni is a traditional dish from Eastern Europe, it has its origins in Siberia. Main ingredients required for its preparation are small portions of ground beef and onions. Apart from meat, people sometimes use mushrooms, fish, and some vegetables, however you can create your own filling. Finally, Russians prefer homemade Pelmeni, because it tastes better. That is why we recommend you to do it at home, rather than buying it at supermarkets.

  • 3 cups flour.
  • 4 eggs.
  • Water.
  • Salt.
  • 500 gr. Meat.
  • 500 gr. ground pork.
  • 4 onions.
  • Pepper.
  • Sift the flour with the salt and place it in a smooth surface.

  • Little by little, add warm water and knead the dough.

  • Roll it into a ball and wrap the dough with a plastic wrap after that place it in the refrigerator for some minutes.

  • Meanwhile, in a separate bowl mix the following ingredients: beef, pork, onions, pepper, and salt.

  • Make a kind of snake with the dough, cut it into small pieces and roll the pieces into circles.

  • Put the filling in the middle of each circle, spoon over it to completely seal each piece of Pelmeni.

  • Cook the Pelemeni in a pot of salted water.

  • They are ready to eat when they are floating on the surface.
