One of the most traditional Russian soups is Ukha which it is mainly made of Salmon, Cod and Sturgeon. All of these foods high in Vitamin B12. Although Ukha is known as a fish soup, the origin of this soup dates back some centuries ago, when it was made of meat and chicken. Travelers who visit Russia say that Ukha is definitely one of the most delicious dishes in Russian cuisine.

  • 7 Fishes.
  • 4 Onions.
  • 2 Carrots.
  • 4 Potatoes.
  • 2 heads of Garlic.
  • Celery.
  • Pepper.
  • Bay leaf.
  • Salt.
  • Wash all vegetables, and fish in cold water.

  • Droop the fish into a metal pot, fill it with water and bring it to boil.

  • Add 3 onions, carrots, garlic, salt and pepper, and allow the broth simmer for at least 30 minutes.

  • Peel and cut the potatoes in small pieces.

  • Remove the onions, garlic and fish from the pan.

  • Add the potatoes and cook until soft.

  • Add some pieces of fish and fry the remaining onion in some butter.

  • Add the onions into the soup.

  • Simmer for 10 minutes.

  • Serve.
